Adolescent Day Treatment Program

The Adolescent Day Treatment Program is a sub-regional community-based program providing a wide range of individualized mental health services and educational programming for adolescents with acute psychiatric illnesses. Young people from Abbotsford, Mission, Chilliwack and Fraser Cascade between the ages of 13-18 years inclusive attend the program four days a week from 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. for up to five months.
Program Information
The Adolescent Day Treatment Program is a milieu based, inter-disciplinary model providing a broad range of treatment services. The treatment team consists of a psychiatrist, mental health therapists, teacher, teaching assistant, recreation therapist, and youth care counsellor.
Services provided include:
- assessment
- individual, family and group interventions
- recreational assessment and activities
- educational assessment and programming
Consultation, liaison and referral services also form an integral part of the program. Whenever possible, existing community resources are incorporated into the treatment plan for youth attending the program.
