Caregiver (Foster Parent) Support Program

The CSP was developed in conjunction with the Ministry of Children and Family Development to provide ongoing support to foster families and children in order to maintain foster placements. CSP provides services to assist caregivers in managing a wide range of behaviors and issues related to trauma, diagnoses, attachment and transitions.
Program Information
The CSP's goal is to contribute to a stable home environment for Caregivers in the Abbotsford/Mission areas. To achieve this we work in collaboration with caregivers and community partners to develop realistic and attainable goals as part of a comprehensive service plan. CPS strives to support Caregiver and Foster families in stabilizing, maintaining and enhancing foster placements. Our mission is to encourage development of caregiver community and to facilitate mutually compatible placements through relationship, support and self-advocacy.
Services provided are based on Attachment Theory and Trauma Informed Practice Principles. CSP delivers services through: home visit sessions, phone/text/email support, Care Team meetings, caregiver support, family &professional meetings, training & workshops, special family events, self-advocacy support and resource library. Please note the referral process: through MCFD Resource Social Worker or self-referral by foster parents attached to MCFD files.
